The vineyard between the Two roads or as known by the Tállya locals the ’Ötvenhold’ is a completely flat plot. Our 0.3 hectares were planted by my grandfather in the 1980s. Though not one of our better vineyards it carries an emotional value: when I made up my mind to take up winemaking this was the first plot I started to cultivate with the assistance and guidance of my grandfather. Today the complete area under vine is 0.6 hectares and the only variety is Furmint. Over the years we have discovered that the Ötvenhold provides excellent grapes for Aszú making, so when the vintage is right for the onset of botrytis this is the vineyard where our Aszús come from.
